Cooking hacks speed up food preparation, save time, and even offer opportunities to boost nutrition! Here are some of our favorites that are worth a try.
1. Eggceptional Egg Hacks via Tasty
Eggs are super nutritious and a versatile ingredient. Packed with protein, vitamins, minerals and healthy fats, they make the perfect breakfast, lunch or dinner. That’s why I love these hacks for some great fast ways to enjoy eggs.
Pomegranates make any dish look amazing and they’re packed with antioxidants. The only problem is that their seeds are difficult to remove and that red juice stains anything it comes in contact with! If you’ve put pomegranate into the too hard basket, check out this hack, it shows multiple ways to easily remove the seeds so that you can enjoy pomegranate again.
This is one of ours! But we make it over and over again for kids lunchboxes and they love it! This Homemade popcorn is a perfect healthy food swap in place of potato chips. All you need is a paper bag a little butter or oil and some 99 cent bag of popcorn.
4. Slicing Onions via Jet Fuel
If you find it difficult to get an even cut when preparing onions, check this out. A good knife is key here and helps to prevent crying too.
Bean sprouts have a shelf life of about 5 minutes! That’s an exaggeration, but how many times have you pulled out bean sprouts ready to cook a special dish (curry laksa in my case) only to find they’re all mushy! Here’s how to store them correctly so they last much much longer.
6. Kitchen Hacks Galore via Household Hacker
The last of the cooking hacks and it’s a crazy one because it has many different hacks in one video. I’m unlikely to use all of these but I particularly liked the hack for lettuce storage, yoghurt pops (look tor yoghurts with a lower sugar content), peeling garlic, frozen grapes and grating butter to thaw it out faster. Warning this is a long video but worth a scan for some of those ones.
Over to you, any good cooking hacks that you love?
